Allright, so what's the deal with this grill. Is it for sale or what ? Obviously I could use one. The broken Belvedere piece is not really cutting it.

I don't consider 14.1 to be all that quick.

The more I think about this, the more I have to question it. Because apparently a stock ls1 is a high 13 second car at best. What kind of bolt ons are we talking aboout here. A vortech and a nitrous kit are bolt ons. Let's think this out for a minute. Stock ls1 heads are not going to outflow what I have, and they do not have as many cubic inches. The only way I can see something like this happening is if these ls1's are powering something really light weight. An ls1 with "bolt ons" is not going to make more horsepower then I am.

i am not dogging on big inch old muscle cars, but these heads have 40 years of r&d in them... stock heads flow in the 230 cfm range completely stock. throw some compression and a ecu that is tuner friendly and you could be amazed what these small little 346ci motors can do...

when you can get cnc ported stock heads for around a grand that flow 330cfm... or step up to a 4.0 bore and go ported l92 heads and welcome to the world of 390 cfm of air.... for 1200 bucks.

if you wanna read alot bout these little motors try www.ls1tech.com

Many stock LS1 cars have gone [email protected]. My car went [email protected] with full exhaust, intake, cam, and tune at about 3000lb race weight.

I'm sure they are fine little motors, and they do seem like a really good platform to do a build on. I was just thinking out loud about an ls1 with just some bolt ons kicking my ass. I'm not really seeing it because of the reasons I gave in my previous post.

230 cfm for a stock head is good. But I don't care what you do to it, that's only enough air flow to support a bit more then about 450 horses.

390 cfm sounds a bit optomistic to me, but who knows all flow benchs are different. Beides, we don't race flow benchs and cfm is not the end all be all. If it were, the ford cleveland would have laid waste to everything in it's day.

12.90's.............ok, if you say so. Have you actually seen these with your own eyes ? I know I haven't.

ok, so your ls1 went 11.2, but it's like I suspected, in a fairly lightweight car.

I've seen both fbodies and LS1s running 12.90s stock or almost stock. A few members here have run those times.

there is a serious problem on this site, people don't know the definition of stock.

stock = as it rolled off the show room floor.

Hocky's car never "rolled off the showroom floor" as he came to those times.

Bolts ons are not "stock" Nitrous is not "stock"

Then you get people confusing LS1's with LS7's

its a good engine, and there are a bazzilion people trying things on it.

I don't see many if any "stock" LS1 cars running the times as posted, they have been tweaked one way or another. Tune, something.

I am really not sure what your point was there.... lol. Plenty of true stock cars have run those times and many, many more with light boltons (ie, lid only or catback only).
