Well since Tyler is taking his sweet time making a build thread I figured I would take the innitiative. A couple months ago Tyler approached me and asked if I would have interest in swapping his 68 Camaro from a 350 carb to a 370 LS based engine. Once we had the details worked out the car was finally delivered to me a few weeks ago.

Got to work pulling the old setup out to make way for the LSX Powa!

Next step was to get started on the fuel system. Picked up a new EFI tank. The setup came with a pump and sending unit. Both of these were setup to use in various depth tanks so the lines had to be cut to the proper lengths then installed. Also went through and pulled a bunch of old stuff that we no longer need. Including: exhaust, fuel line, aftermarket security system and trans crossmember.

I mean I can go on eBay and have an idea but what is the point of keeping secrets. IF he decides to sell it would be worth a lot regardless?

Those cars sell for big money. If you make it pretty nice, and put modern drive train in it, and make it a good driver quality car, it's worth a ton.

I don't think he cares about that. I think he'd rather have a cool car to drive.

    Really nice.

Question.....is that a real SS with the RS package ? I'm not a big chevy guy but that's what it looks like in the photos. If it is, that thing is worth a ton of cash.

And of course 68 was the best year for anything out of Detroit.

negative, it may be a real rs, but not rs ss. It's got the proper grille and gas cap from an rs, but 4 wheel drum and mono leaf, which would not have been on an ss. (Frankly the 4 wheel drums have me wondering if it is even an rs)

Right, I gathered. The question was spawned by curiosity.

As I understand it the RS package is a bunch of trim pieces, just cosmetic stuff. I don't think it came with any kind of performance parts, so the 4 wheel drums would not be unusual for that.

It's a real rs car. I'll keep the red and white for a while. Back in the day you could option out a car pretty much any way you wanted.
