The ZR1 has been something that has had my eye for a long time, but it just never lined up due to money or kids or whatever. I made a decision some time ago that when one of my kids went to kindergarten and was getting on the bus in the morning, I would buy one because I would then be able to drive it to work regularly. That time came at the end of this summer, but I was enjoying my ZL1 and wasn't really interested in making any changes. It has been on my mind for the last few weeks again and I kept swaying back and forth, so I finally gave in and bought one so that I could stop the damn voices in my head. lol. I searched around, found some options with my top color choices being either the dark gray or the yellow. This car ended up being in Dallas, TX with 7k miles on it and a very nice nav head unit already installed and the 3zr package. I was sold and gave them a deposit on Wednesday around lunch, picked up the cash shortly there after, and flew into Dallas at 6AM the next morning to pick it up. I was very happy with the car (and the overall experience with the dealership) - it is super clean all of the way around, ran perfectly, and was ready to go. So, I did what any logical person would do - packed it up for a 14 hour drive home in the middle of the winter. The dealership manager thought I was nuts, but who can wait to ship in a new car? Not me. So, I hit the road and enjoyed the car. Obviously, it was cold out as I got more north, but I made sure to make a few trips through Mexico. The car runs good. It really likes high speeds, that is for sure. The handling kicks ass. The brakes are nuts. The stock exhaust sounds awesome. Overall, I am pretty stoked. This thing is a lot of car and it'll be a ton of fun anywhere that I want to use it. I am certain that I am the first person to show this car greater than 50% tps, greater than 60mph, rain, and definitely salt. I also drove more miles in one day than the previous 2 owners did ever. I made it count. ;-) Time to add some more of those horsepower things. This picture is after ~600 miles. Notice the complete lack of brake dust? Carbon brakes are worth the cost of entry just for this. Awesome.
