Edgar Mission: Bring Indy Back Together (Hangout)

So this is a discussion that has been going on Indycarz for the last couple of days. Not that long ago I was sitting around with a group of friends asking myself, "where do car people hangout anymore" and then I started to think of how many people I have met over the years have gone their own way onto a new "website" or simply hangout with the group of friends that share the similar views that one does in cars. I was one of them to split for a while from what was then a car scene where all kinds of guys would hangout and take pictures and simply go on their was after that.

So besides people have "personal" issues with each other and some people parting ways from one website to another to another or being apart of a group that they feel accepted I want to seriously hear some mature responses. "I simply don't give a fuck" doesn't count on this one.

I would really like to bring everyone together weather they drive a Honda, WRX, a lame ass drift car 240sx and seriously have one hangout towards the end of this Summer where everyone hangouts. I am going to do my part and call some local "shops, stores, groups" to come out to a location that I choose to simply see how it works. I think we should give our city and car scene another chance.

If you dont like someone whatever deal with it and dont talk to them. Come out park your car look cool and let's seriously buckle down and atleast show up for 20 minutes. Get a caravan of your friends and come out. I will be setting something up and dumb young kids burning out, causing a ruckus will have the police called on them no questions ask. I ask that we all come together and make this happen.


I will be posting this on all local car forums that I am on, if you seea that I miss one please reply to this thread or the one on IC or PM me whatever and tell me about it. I'll stand up for this, will you?

So this should be called the indy car dudes reunion meet. Or something along those lines.

What we need is something along the lines of import alliance, but for everyone. I know not everyone likes to drag race or have cars that can, but we could all meet up at say orp and have a designated spot in the parking lot where we can all "hard park". Tuesday nights should be open for most and we wouldn't have to worry about db's ruining for everyone. Or better yet we can choose to switch it up every month to a different kind of event. One month drag, second auto x, third drift, fourth some ones house, etc etc.

This way everyone could get to know all the different car types with out the hassle of cops, idiots, don't have to pay for a venue, and what not.

Yea, I am already working on ideas for this and i'm just going to do it. Ill announce it with a flyer and all information. We are working close with businesses and communities so that idiots and idiotic behavior is frowned upon. Cops dont mess with you if you dont act like a total fucking moron. /fact

Not trying to be an asshole but over the years everyone has "ideas" and no action. I will just announce it. Show up or not we will have fun and keep telling people to come out. If you want to sit at home get fat or fail then do so. If you want to come out for a bit and have fun then do it.

Ok, not being a dick either, but most of those "people" that used to hang out grow up. Like myself. I work full time, go to school full time(year round). Not every one is staying at home "getting fat". It's called priorities.

Not every one has leisure time to do wtf ever they want when they want to do it. This is me though, don't know about everyone else.


But pick a date and let everyone know early enough ahead of time and it will deff work out pretty good. You give me a few weeks notice and I can be there.

Like you said, it has been tried multiple times without success. If anyone can pull it off, I have faith you can. I will be there in the beater or hopefully the race car.

Life does happen, but just because life happens, friendships do not end. It is nice to see people out that do not normally come out.

I still hang out with all the friends that are/were on IC. and they all drive a bunch of random ass cars. I think it's not the difference in cars that's not letting us bridge the gap, but personal history with each other and whatnot. which of course is easier said than done.

Having a 1.5 year old leaves me almost no free time. Between working full time, the ol' lady working full time and going to school full time, I hardly ever get a free day. At least the full time school will be done in May.

I wish I had time to finish a car to hang out/cruise in!!! Slowly, but the amount of time I would have to hand out is little........maybe Sunday afternoon we can all meet at a park, those with kids can let them play, we adults can mingle. . . .we need someone to watch the kids though........

I haven't used up many over nights for my kids with my folks this year in hopes my car is done and I get a few months worth of playing in.....so maybe I will be out some.
